Day 12 of the 365 Project: Dead Man’s Fingers Fungi
Why Did I Take a Photo of These Dead Man’s Fingers?
Well, they are cool, aren’t they?
I’ll have to say the composition isn’t the best now that I have edited the RAW file. I wish I had taken the photo lower and way more to the left so both fingers would be closer together. Also, it is the middle of November so the mushrooms aren’t in the best of shape. They are slightly desiccated. I’ll include another photo below later of an image of Dead Man’s Fingers that earned me first place in a camera club competition.
But the reason I took them is because not many people have seen them as they are good at hiding unless you are looking for them.
Another reason is that I enjoy taking photos of mushrooms. I like the process of setting up a focus stack shot. It is more involved than snapping a photo.
Is it the best photo? No. But it was the best subject I came across today in the limited time I had to take photographs.
The idea behind a 365 Project isn’t taking super great photos. It is more about getting outside and using the camera.
