Sunset Clouds – November 29, 2024 365 Project

Day 25 of the 365 Project: Sunset Clouds

Inland clouds at sunset

Why Did I Take This Photo of the Clouds at Sunset?

Because I didn’t have much time to find another subject, I had a long day at work, sun up to sun down and I didn’t have time to take a photo of anything else interesting.

As I was finishing my second route for the day I pulled over at an athletic field and took this image of the setting sun blasting through the low clouds. I like how the color goes through the thinner parts of the cloud while it doesn’t penetrate through the thicker part and turns this bluish-gray black color.

I am lucky for this as the Lake Effect machine is throwing down a thick cover of snow east of Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. Not a great time to get a lot of snow as we try to deliver the early Black Friday purchases. The weather looks like it will hold out here tomorrow, and that is a good thing as we will be busy again. But the beginning of the next week is looking like the snow bands will drop down to the southeast of the lakes and hit us.

Wish the photo was a little more photographic, but it is what I could get today.

The colors are nice, however.

Day 25 in the books. Hopefully, I can find another subject on my routes tomorrow as it will be another long day. Give your rural postal drivers some love we are very busy this time of year.
