Day 22 of the 365 Project: Clouds Over Farmland on the Way to Bucktail
Why Did I Take this Landscape Image of Clouds Over Farmland?
On my way to Bucktail Falls to take my daily photography I saw the scene above as I crossed Route 20. At first, I liked the yellowish clouds contrasting with the darker storm clouds above and the strips of green farmland below.
As I looked closer I saw the two large trees silhouetted against the sky and the white clouds dropping down behind them.
Here is where I wished I had a longer lens so I could zoom in closer and make a more intimate photo of the landscape and bring those trees, dropping clouds, and amazing light closer. All I currently own is a 16-80mm, so I zoomed in to 80mm (120 equivalent on a full-frame sensor) and took the photo.
Even though I took numerous photos of the Bucktail Falls afterward, this image stuck with me and I thought I would share it. After all, the point of this besides getting out and shooting every day is to show you what catches my eye. The light, contrast, and clouds caught them today.
The waterfall images will still get edited and added to my Bucktail Falls gallery. So at some point, you will still get to see them, plus I will visit the falls again and share them with you in the 365 project.
If you would like to support this project and all of the other ongoing ones like the White Cedar and Clark Reservation projects you can donate below. All of the donations will go toward better photography equipment.
